02 — Spectrum
How Solar Radiation Affects Your Facility's Temperature
The solar radiation hitting your roof skylights consists of three primary components:
UV
Ultraviolet Radiation (UV)
Features a wavelength shorter than 390–400 nm. Although it represents a smaller part of the spectrum, it causes material degradation indoors.
VIS
Visible Radiation
With a wavelength of approximately 380–760 nm, it allows us to see and work under natural light.
IR
Infrared Radiation (IR) – Thermal
Features a wavelength longer than 750 nm (up to 4000 nm). This component is primarily responsible for overheating, as it carries the majority of thermal energy.

How Does Coolmonkey Differ from Standard Fabrics?
Standard shading fabrics often fail to differentiate between these components effectively. This results in either excessive darkness (if the fabric is too dense) or the transmission of infrared radiation, which heats the interior uncontrollably.
