Skylight shading: reduce industrial building temperatures and save energy

Are you looking to reduce the energy consumption of your industrial building while improving working conditions? Industrial skylights provide excellent natural light, but during summer they become the primary cause of indoor overheating, uncomfortable glare, and harmful UV radiation. We developed a highly efficient solution – custom-made Coolmonkey mesh screen covers for commercial skylights.

01 — Key benefits

Key benefits of mesh skylight shading

The method is technically simple and budget-friendly, yet exceptionally effective – with no alteration to the original skylight structure.

Blocks the heat, keeps the light

Maintain natural daylight in your facility without the unwanted greenhouse effect or glare.

Temperature drop of 7–15 °C

Significantly improves the indoor climate and working conditions in production halls during hot summer months.

Long lifespan with minimal maintenance

The system requires minimal maintenance and retains its functional properties over the long term. Coolmonkey screen covers last significantly longer than solar coatings or window films and do not alter the original skylight structure.

Tailor-made solutions

We manufacture custom shading systems for skylights of all shapes, sizes and technical designs.

02 — Return on investment

Rapid ROI that makes business sense

Cooling indoor air by 1 °C is three times more expensive than heating it by the same amount. Air conditioning and industrial cooling consume massive amounts of electricity – Coolmonkey skylight shading is an investment that pays for itself rapidly.

Lower energy consumption

Significantly reduces the building's energy consumption and improves its energy performance.

Immediate cost savings

Cuts operational costs for air conditioning and industrial cooling from day one.

Meets grant criteria

Helps satisfy the strict criteria of corporate energy-savings grant programs.

03 — Skylight types

Solutions by roof skylight type

Every skylight shape needs a different fabric layout and a different fixing method. That is why we manufacture each shading system only after precise on-site measurement — without touching the upper skylight structure.

Barrel-vault skylight

The fabric follows the arch and is tensioned with bungee cords around the perimeter, so it holds its shape even in strong wind.

Ridge skylight

We shade both sloping faces; seams are high-frequency welded so no weak point appears along the ridge.

Dome skylight

Individual domes get standalone covers made to the exact diameter and height of the daylighting element.

Continuous ribbon skylight

Long runs are split into matching sections that can be serviced or replaced individually.

Sawtooth skylight

Only the glazed orientation is shaded, so daylight distribution inside the hall stays even.

Skylight above machinery

Installation is done from the roof, with no production shutdown and no need to cover equipment inside the hall.
